چکیده

The purpose of the research was to assess potential effectiveness Azospirillum baldaniorum Sp245 in stimulating induction processes related adventitious root formation. In this short communication, we present preliminary results obtained for first time Leccino olive cultivar (Olea europaea L.). Semi-hardwood cuttings were collected at different sampling times (autumn, winter, and spring) subjected root-inductive treatments with strain (AZO) indole-3-butyric acid (IBA), most employed synthetic auxin used nursery production plants. Moreover, two growing substrates, perlite (an inorganic medium) Elepot® (a blend peat, coconut fiber, perlite) tested. Histological assays carried out identify main cellular changes leading highest rates showing more advanced stages rooting inductive signals observed spring sample. events after AZO comparable those IBA, which mainly associated substrate. positive responses semi-hardwood could provide possibility replacing IBA develop perspectives a context organic systems where alternative compounds, able improve rate cuttings, substitute non-permitted agents. induced significant activities be considered valid agent.

Fruit Morphological Changes during Pit Hardening in Autochthonous Istrian Olive (Olea europaea L.) Cultivars

Endocarp lignifi cation is important fruit growth phenophase since aft er its completion fruit starts with oil accumulation. Th e information about duration of endocarp lignifi cation is important for timing of management practices, irrigation and pest control in oil cultivars, and fruit thinning in table cultivars to obtain uniform fruit weight and size. In this study, fruit length, width and ...

Systemic responses in a tolerant olive (Olea europaea L.) cultivar upon root colonization by the vascular pathogen Verticillium dahliae

Verticillium wilt of olive (VWO) is caused by the vascular pathogen Verticillium dahliae. One of the best VWO management measures is the use of tolerant cultivars; however, our knowledge on VWO tolerance/resistance genetics is very limited. A transcriptomic analysis was conducted to (i) identify systemic defense responses induced/repressed in aerial tissues of the tolerant cultivar Frantoio upo...

Pedologic Factors Affecting Virgin Olive Oil Quality of "Chemlali" Olive Trees (Olea europaea L.).

The aim of this study examined the characterization of extra virgin olive oil samples from the main cultivar Chemlali, grown in five olive orchards with different soil type (Sandy, Clay, Stony, Brown, Limestone and Gypsum). Volatile compounds were studied using headspace-solid phase micro-extraction (HS-SPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technics. Moreover, the sterol profil...
